Okay, I’m gonna say it: so far, this movie doesn’t look as bad as I originally thought. Sure, that last line delivered from Jaden Smith makes me wanna uppercut him into the next county but the rest of seems somewhat tolerable. Will Jackie Chan get nominated for an Oscar like Pat Morita did for the original? Probably not but still, I promise you this: I will AT LEAST rent this on DVD when it’s released. So what do you guys think? Wanna see this or is your inner Ralph Macchio telling you to stay away?
Interesting twist on the story. But what's with the corn rows?
Psht! Corn rows are the best for fighting aerodynamics. Everyone knows that!
The greatest thing from that trailer was the shot of the CCTV headquarters. I'll probably stay away.
For me the biggest flaw is the title. I like the revamped setting. The trailer is good enough to pique my interest. Unless I am doing the family thing or it happens to be directed by Zhang Yimou or Wong Kar Wai, I will wait.
I don't know about this. The setting is great and certainly the stunt work looks good, but I just can't get past the fact that it's a redu. Couldn't they have made a new story somehow?
Forget about it, Aileen. It's Hollywood :)
I have to admit i was upset when i heard they were re-doing it. But after seeing the trailer i guess its not that bad…def want to see it
I can't get over the fact that it's Karate Kid … and they're doing king-fu. Can someone explain that to me?
Perhaps they'll explain it in the movie but I too am bothered by this. Especially since the nerd in me KNOWS Jackie Chan don't do Karate in real life: dude got his training at Peking Opera School and that isn't a disciple they teach. BAH!
Totally. If they wanted to update the thing, they should have called it MMA Kid and had Chuck Liddell as the wise old man.
