Redesigned Mustang revealed; teen girls everywhere rejoice

I like the Mustang. But as of late, it seems like every time I see one, it’s being driven by a teenage girl bumping T-Pain and chatting it up on her blinged out Crackberry. I mean, c’mon….the Mustang has been somewhat castrated as of late. Not horsepower-wise but rather it’s overall bad ass image. Sure the redesign a couple of years back taking it back to it’s roots was cool and got me interested in the Blue Oval once again. But it wasn’t enough. And now here we are a few years later and once again we’re blessed with a slight tweek in wake of the Chevy Camaro being redesigned and scheduled for release next year. It looks cool but still can’t shake that little girl image. Still, I can admire a nice car not matter that the legacy it retains and I think it’s def an improvement. Check out some more pics by clicking here and be sure to check out the video walk through down below all of which you can find over at Autoblog. Let us know what you think of the redesign.

  1. Ford baffles me. After they fucked up the Mustang in the 80’s and released the Probe to fight off the little Japanese cars and appeal to women, who knows what they’re doing?

You know what market they’d do well in, castrating their cars. Seriously. I mean utterly castrating them. My dad and his friends are all about the look of the car and any other high speed/power model. He’d love to have a sweet hot rod of a car, but what he really wants is the mileage. I can’t understand why these carmakers haven’t figured out that putting a hybrid or even an electric motor in a car like the Mustang would probably sell well. A sweet looking car that gets 30 or 40 MPG? No, nobody wants that right now. That’s why the Tesla Roadster has a flippin’ waiting list.

Innovation is what we want now. Not the same thing with a tweek to the body and interior.

  2. Yeah, I totally agree with you, sir. If Tesla can stay afloat (cause it seems that every other week they have a new CEO these days) and deliver on a bad ass combo of good looks and efficiency, that will force everyone in the car game to head in the direction that seems totally logical to everyone else except them. I was hoping the Volt would of been a step in the right direction but the production car design turned out to be a half-step.

  3. Roq, that’s what happens when you spend too much time in North Fresno and not enough time attending D1 Grand Prix Seriously though, if it doesn’t have a V8 under the hood, it’s not a Mustang.

    1. someone said if its doesnt have a V8, its not a mustang. The truth is that the vast majority of mustang sales are V6’s and while they arent nearly as cool, they keep the brand afloat.

  4. Nah. Mustang is just a brand identification, like anything else. Civics, Accords, and Camrys are all still those cars, despite having hybrid models.

The mentality that it still has to guzzle gas in order to be that car is kind of silly. So what, you can’t rev the motor at stop lights to let everyone know you have a small penis anymore. I’m sure natural selection will help those car owners figure out another way to let the ladies know. Maybe a pair of these?

  5. The Ford Mustang still exudes all kinds of badass, Roq. GT500, GT500 King of The Road, The Bullit Mustang, or the Shelby Super Snake, SALEEN and Roush. Just because you see teen porn whores driving V6 Mustangs around North Fresno with a Bluetooth in each ear, doesn’t mean the Stang has lost it’s edge. It’s Fresno brah. I’ve seen a custom 500KR in person and I damn near shit myself at the sight of it. Brembo’s on a Mustang?

Adam, high horsepower cars that achieve 40mpg aren’t going to be mass produced anytime soon. Plus, anything that gets that kind of mileage these days looks like straight ass. Tesla Roadster, hey, if you’ve got $120K burning a hole in your pocket, be my guest. Spending that kind of money on a vehicle isn’t exactly “economical” or even a smart investment in my eyes. The Tesla has a flippin’ waiting list because of limited production. $100K+ cars aren’t exactly in high demand. The tech is out there but it comes at a price, obviously. But if that’s what some people gotta do to let the ladies know your penor is bigger than the rest, then by all means, go right ahead. Sounds silly if you ask me. Might wanna think about one of these, perhaps?

  6. You totally missed my point Marty. It’s not about developing engines with high horse power and high MPG, It’s about putting current gas-saving technology into chasses and bodies that look sweet.

You take a Mustang and lighten it up, take out the motor and drop in hybrid tech like Honda and Toyota did with their popular models and boom, sweet looking car that gets good mileage.

  7. Whats wrong with chicks driving a mustang? There should not be a problem if chicks feel the need for speed in these rocking bad ass cars. I guess some boys feel chalenged and start to whine, when it's actually no big deal.
