When I plunked down my hard earned cash late last year for a Playstation 3, I wasn’t buying a game system but rather a BluRay player that just happened to play games. It was weird that the games weren’t the sole reason for me purchasing the thing and I haven’t regretted it yet. And today, fresh from the Consumer Eletronics Show comes this video [via GameTrailers] of next month’s new release on the Sony system, Killzone 2. The hype on this thing goes beyond almost anything as they have to contend with that 2005 pre-viz video that, although the admitted was pre-rendered later, got the community’s blood boiling. Although it’s not looking like they’re going to quite reach that level of details, it looks pretty damn close. If that video up there leaves you wanting more, check out all the other new vids after the jump.
i wonder if this game will ever actually come out.
and, also if any of the footage shown in the video is from actual game play.
Well, the release date is late next month and supposedly this is all running off the in game engine so the graphics will be there but we’ll have to see about the gameplay….
I still don’t see why anyone whether a developer or SCEA themselves just host a conference with Kojima and his team to teach people how to squeeze the power from playstation systems. I am 1/4 of the way in MGS4 and it is just nearly flawlees graphic execution.
They thing is Kojima and his team created a masterpiece with MGS4, visually. But there are stil some hiccups that I noticed, mainly framerate. But you gotta see that this was practically a first gen game and look at what they accomplished! That’s nuts! If the PS3 survives long enough to get third gen games out, man…..JIZZ IN MY PANTS! I still have yet to get any further than like 30 mins. into the game but yeah, it’s amazing!
