The 3-D action-thriller SANCTUM, from executive producer James Cameron, follows a team of underwater cave divers on a treacherous expedition to the largest, most beautiful and least accessible cave system on Earth. When a tropical storm forces them deep into the caverns, they must fight raging water, deadly terrain and creeping panic as they search for an unknown escape route to the sea.
Master diver Frank McGuire (Richard Roxburgh) has explored the South Pacific’s Esa-ala Caves for months. But when his exit is cut off in a flash flood, Frank’s team—including 17-year-old son Josh (Rhys Wakefield) and financier Carl Hurley (Ioan Gruffudd)—are forced to radically alter plans. With dwindling supplies, the crew must navigate an underwater labyrinth to make it out. Soon, they are confronted with the unavoidable question: Can they survive, or will they be trapped forever?
Shot on location off the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, Sanctum employs 3-D photography techniques Cameron developed to lens Avatar. Designed to operate in extreme environments, the technology used to shoot the action-thriller will bring audiences on a breathless journey across plunging cliffs and into the furthest reaches of our subterranean world.
THIS FILM IS RATED R (RESTRICTED – UNDER 17 REQUIRES ACCOMPANYING PARENT OR ADULT GUARDIAN) FOR LANGUAGE, SOME VIOLENCE AND DISTURBING IMAGES.

The scariest experience I had with water was back when I was 10. My cousin threw me into the deep end of my uncles pool. He didn't know I didn't know how to swim at the time. I was flailing about for what seemed like forever until my uncle saw me and dived in after me. I didn't bother learning how to swim till I was 18.
My scariest experience was when I was 10 yrs old and didn't know how to swim yet. I had those floatation rings on my arms and I jumped into the deep end. The slipped off my arms and I started drowning. I just remember panicking and my sister laughing and pointing at me before my mom screamed at her to help me. Damn her! But now I know how to swim!
Was around 12 years old, swimming at a friend's house. He decided it would be fun to wrestle me down underwater, not realizing I hadn't taken a breath or cared to be drowned in the first place. Squirmed my way out. But never wanted to go swimming at his place again.
Well I was tossed into the deep end of the pool by my older sister because she was "teaching" me to swim, but that's not the scariest. The scariest was my pops deciding to brave the ocean in Acapulco while on a tour when I was around 7. He somehow got pulled underneath the boat but was pulled back up by a fellow American. That man got a free dinner that night and we got mightily freaked out about water safety for the remainder of the trip. We're all better now though!
I wanna go!
it was high school gym class. we had to swim & ive never swam before. i was thinking it cant be that hard!! the exercise was swim across the deep end of the pool. half way thru the thing i realize i cant make it across & start freaking out as i start sinking to the bottom. as i get rescued by some of my other classmates. after that i was dubbed "Screams Like a Bitch, Bee". so not only did i almost die but i also humiliated & ridiculed by a bunch of high schoolers (aka social death)
