PAUL

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) reunite for the comedy adventure Paul as two sci-fi geeks whose pilgrimage takes them to America’s UFO heartland. While there, they accidentally meet an alien who brings them on an insane road trip that alters their universe forever.

For the past 60 years, an alien named Paul (Seth Rogen) has been hanging out at a top-secret military base. For reasons unknown, the space-traveling smart ass decides to escape the compound and hop on the first vehicle out of town—a rented RV containing Earthlings Graeme Willy (Pegg) and Clive Gollings (Frost).

Chased by federal agents and the fanatical father of a young woman that they accidentally kidnap, Graeme and Clive hatch a fumbling escape plan to return Paul to his mother ship. And as two nerds struggle to help, one little green man might just take his fellow outcasts from misfits to intergalactic heroes.

Paul is directed by Superbad’s Greg Mottola, from a story by Pegg & Frost. Joining the comedy’s cast are Jason Bateman, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Blythe Danner, Joe Lo Truglio, John Carroll Lynch, David Koechner and Sigourney Weaver.

  1. Sadly I have NOT encountered any alien life forms to my knowledge, which in all honesty is probably for the best. If I had my choice, I wouldn’t mind a close encounter of the third kind with the seemingly non-alien Simon Pegg

  2. Is say the closest thing the a close encounter would have to be when I used to live in the country. Is always felt like something or someone was watching me. There were moments where it felt like they were breathing down my neck.

  3. A few weeks ago I was watching a very scary alien movie about abductions late at night..mistake #1. I was home alone…mistake #2. I heard the garage door open. "My husband must be home", I thought. After 5 minutes, he didn't come in the house. This made me nervous. I paused the movie at the part where the man was flashbacking to being probed, screaming violently. I walked outside towards the garage to see that it was dark. No light was on…but his car was parked in the garage in pitch black… with the garage door open. Panicked, I ran inside. I started pacing around. The movie had me really thinking abductions..I was also thinking "home invadors"….I was very nervous. I texted him, "Hey, are you here?". No Response. So I grabbed a flashlight, went outside, and stared at the dark garage. I texted him again hoping to hear the sound of his phone.., "Because…your car is here…". I went back inside the house. I was afraid to shine the light in the garage for fear of whatever might be in there. Alien? Robber? Cat? I survey the road leading to our apartment. Nothing. Quiet. The still of deadly night. I quickly went back inside. I sat on the couch, tapping my fingers. My nerves were killing me. Just then, I could hear the garage door close. Then the front door flung open. I jumped in fright. In walks my husband talking on his cell phone. He put up one finger to let me know it was an important call. Apparently he was in the car the whole time in the dark talking with his brother. I felt like a fool. The next alien movie I see…will be Paul. And I will be seeing it with my husband. :)

  4. I guess I am, technically, an alien right here in the valley! Of the legal immigrant kind, from another country on this planet, sure… but there are times when it feels like I might as well be from another planet! Especially when it comes to talking about Evolution – so that's one scene I am keenly looking forward to in this movie. I sure hope you drop the free tickets my way!!!

  5. I don't know if one would say it was an alien encounter or not but this one time I went to this really really weird wedding ceremony and I would argue that the great majority of the attendees were of some type of alien breed. I know I definitely had my suspicions! Don't get me wrong, I still ate the food and had some wedding cake and took a few wedding favors with me, but trust me, I was very careful.

  6. My brother's name is Paul, so does that count as a close encounter? ;) I do remember one moment though (true story) where I was having a hard time getting to sleep. I was looking out my window and I remember seeing a strange orange/yellow glowing light. It was moving very slowly, and at times didn't seem to be moving at all. One of my dogs started barking inside the house and it was then I got a little scared. I thought about grabbing my camera downstairs, but was too nervous to do anything – most of the time I had my eyes closed. When I opened them again, the light was still there, moving slowly like a snail. After awhile, I finally got the courage to jump up and take a closer look out my window, but the light had vanished – just like that without a trace. In the morning I told my mom. She didn't see anything strange but remembered waking up in the middle of the night, hearing our dog barking and being too tired to tell him to stop.

It would be amazing if f I won tickets but wouldn't matter to me if I didn't, because I'd still be looking forward to seeing Paul and dragging my brother along! ;) It will also be the first movie I'll see in a theater that's rated R :)

  7. Ok ok, one day me an my dad were driving home out in the country and it was probably around 11. We were coming home from a screening and then I looked into the night sky and all of a sudden blam! Out of the Farnese in the night sky a fire started and went straight up into the sky, then disappeared into space. The best conclusion I can come up with was an alien spaceship leaving earth, and what I saw were it's thrusters burning.

  8. My family use to live in the country. At night it was a fairly scary place so I was always convincing myself that there were ghosts, aliens, and ax murderers waiting for me in the shadows. That said I swear I saw some strange things in the sky. It ranged from fast movIng lights in the sky to glowing discs moving slowly to the horizon. Suffice it to say, I'm a believer.

  9. My close encounter has to be when I traveled around Arizona and saw weird things in the sky. I might be something else but it was weird at the time?!?!?

  10. The closest encounter was just watching stuff on T.V which they claim was real shot footage but who knows don't believe everything you see and hear on T.V nowadays.

  11. The closest encounter I've got into was seeing weird lights in the sky but I believe it might have been something else!!!

  12. Yo ROQ, Iv'e seen plenty TR-3Bs floating around the skies east of Fresno… Rumor has it the got built by lockhead in the early 90's, after some reversed engineered alien crashdown crafts… not necessarily ALIENS… but as close as most of us will get. Here is one from Fresno on Youtube about 6 months ago:

Here is a vid of a TR-3B this past JAN over the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem

Def not a myth, but I dont quite think its ALIEN. ANyone else have similar sightings?
