It’s the second Friday of the month, and you know what that means: Fresno Filmworks. To kick off the new year, Filmworks is screening a documentary called “Waste Land” from the UK and Brazil. It follows the story of Brooklyn artist Vik Muniz as he travels back to his native Brazil to explore one of the largest landfills in Latin America, Jardim Gramacho, and the people who live there. The Fresno Bee’s movie critic Donald Munro highly recommends the film giving it an “A” in his review. Check out the trailer above and come out tonight to The Tower Theatre at either 5:30 or 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 or $8 for students and seniors. Support the local film scene!
