For the past couple years the Fresno County Public Library has been putting on the “Get Reel Student Film Festival,” a competition for local high school kids to make films in a variety of genres (narrative, documentary, music video, etc.) and have a chance to win prizes. It’s a very cool event and their awards ceremony is going down tomorrow (Sunday) at 3pm at The Tower Theatre. And the best part… it’s free! So come on down and check it out. I was humbled to be asked to be a judge for the festival, and I must say there are some talented kids out there creating films and video projects locally. Like Swede Fest, events like this are helping to improve our local film scene and build up the community. So please support it! Plus, everyone’s favorite blogger Mike Oz will be emceeing, so you know it’ll be good times.
