So last night there as supposed to be a screening of Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Kahn goin’ on in Austin where the audience we’re also going to be able to catch 10 minutes of the new Star Trek film. Well, they decied to pull a switcheroo that and surprised everyone (including a surprise appearance by Leonard Nimoy) in the audience by showing the new film in it’s entirety for the first time. And hence, the reviews have been coming in from everywhere. To be honest, the sci-fi nerd in me is excited to see the franchise in me revamped (I used to be a big The Next Generation fan) an the cast seems really top notch but I’ve been pretty much not too excited about this release. I really liked J.J. Abrahms’ Mission:Impossible 3 but with that being his only feature film under his belt, I’m still kinda skecptical about dude. But maybe this’ll be the film that’ll convert me. Anyways, the reviews are coming up all over the place and Slash Film has gathered some snippets from around the net here. Check ’em out and judge for yourself.
I don’t think I’m allowed to bypass this one. I just found out my bf is a Trekkie and so we’re going to be there opening weekend. LOL… who woulda thunk it! :P
You just found out?! True, it’s something that you don’t really put out there during the courtship period….unless the other person is on the same wavelength. And I don’t know many, if any, female Star Trek fans. It should be entertaining, though!
