No video game has ever made an impression on my as much as Shadow Of The Colossus. Hold on, did I just call it a game? Fuck that, that shit is fucken art. The visuals, the music, the sheer execution of the game play & style is beyond words (plus Guillermo Del Toro said it so that should be the finality of it, right?). Hidden under a layer of simple game play lies something much deeper that forces you to care about a boy & his mission to save the girl he loves. And now here comes Hollywood to make sure to fuck it up, according to Slash Film. No seriously, I wish the the best if they decide to actually make this film & hope it’s done right but you know those guys’ track record when it comes down to video game movies. I guess we’ll just to wait and see what happens but for now, I gotta go dig out my PS2 & bust out this game like right now! What do you guys think? Should this be adapted for the big screen and if so who would you like to see helming this bad boy?
This is one sweet ass game. We had such a great time playing it. My wife was actually sad when the horse, Yagro (sp?), took the leap and didn’t make it.
I haven’t seen many of the video game to screen movies, but I would be interested in this one just to see if they can capture its shear beauty. They just shouldn’t take so long figuring out the water Colossus like I did.
Ahh, yes…the water Colossus was interesting. And yes, that scene with the horse tugged at a brother’s heart strings. And like you said if they’re able to catch the spirit of the game properly, it might actually work. I’m thinking maybe a “silent” CGI animated film in the vein of Wall-E, perhaps? Hmmm….mull that one over, Sony Executives. (patent pending, patent pending)
I’m all a’jitter! It has so, sooo much potential. There can be some real, real awesome things done with this flick.
It actually inspires me to write an article, so I’ll save it for that, but let it be said, I remain hopeful. It could be beautiful.
