According to IGN, it looks like RZA(aka Bobby Digital), leader of the prominent hip hop group Wu Tang Clan, has been cast in Judd Apatow’s newest film Funny People. The plot of the film revolves around a comedian played by Adam Sandler who is diagonosed with a terminal health condition which spurs a friendship between him and a newbie comic played by Seth Rogen. The film also stars Eric Bana, Jonah Hill, and Apatow’s wife, Leslie Mann and two children Iris and Maude. Look for the film to be released sometime in 2009. RZA is also currently working on a martial arts film called The Man With The Iron Fist and has been collaborating with Eli Roth. The film is said to be heavily influenced by the work of Quentin Tarantino. I hope this film doesn’t turn out like his last album and is just bloody and awesome.
Ah, a break from the sci-fi nerdiness. I like it when you report on hip hop. More hip hop news!
