Having just watched “Desperado” again not too long ago, it makes me sad to see how far Robert Rodriguez has strayed from his roots. I still love the guy but those movies of yesteryear were so filed with inventiveness and creativity. When I see him doing Nike commercials that really don’t bring something new (this came off as a rehash of the “Grindhouse” theme he’s been doing for the past few years) to the game, the kid in me who was wowed by “El Mariachi” gets a frown on his face. But back to the news… The short film stars Kobe Bryant, Kanye West, Danny Trejo & Bruce Willis. Yeah, cool cast but I ended up not impressed by the final product (the explosion of the gas station was my favorite part).
