I lied: Flashback Features return next week, same night, new time!

liarliarSo as we gathered at Me & Ed’s last night for what we thought was going to be the last Flashback Feature of this season, Michael Banti walked in and presented to me a flyer. A beautiful flyer, which announced that not only were the Flashback Features not over, but rather were starting a whole new 12 week run. Yes, it’s true! We have a whole new slew of films to drink beer and Gettogether to, and now showing at 9pm! But enough of this jiber-jabber, lets get on to the list:

December 18th – The Big Lebowski
December 25th – Caddyshack

January 1st – The Breakfast Club

January 8th – Clerks
January 15th – Dr. Strangelove
January 22nd – Jurassic Park

January 29th – The Matrix

February 5th – Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory
February 12th – Friday The 13th
February 19th – Blazing Saddles
February 26th – Full Metal Jacket
March 5th – Gremlins
March 12th – Purple Rain
March 19th- Top Gun
March 26th – Pulp Fiction
April 2nd – Titanic

Yeah, there are a couple of stinkers in there (in my book) but overall the quality seems pretty good. Clerks has got to be the one to see for me and I have a feeling that might be our next Gettogether but we’ll see. So which ones are you guys definately gonna go check out? Let us know your thoughts! And thanks to everyone who came out last night!

  1. I have to give credit where credit is due on the flyer, my sister found it at the front of the box office. I will definitely be there for Clerks and probably the Breakfast Club. Cause nuthin says celebrating the new year like seeing a 1980’s brat pack flick.

  2. Goonies was awesome last night! The lineup isn’t too bad. I want to see Clerks, The Breakfast Club, Jurassic Park (when we were younger this was the best movie ever!), Willy Wonk…Purple Rain (uh can I say Classic 80s movie!)
Pull some strings and let them know, I’m dying to see the NeverEnding Story again.

  3. I would say a good 75% piqued my interest.

It will be fun to see Walter, Buck, Pyle, Vincent, and many others on the big screen. I own all but four of the listed movies and have seen all but one.

    Sounds like fun.

  4. uh yeah your going to have to suggest office space for me, okay. (my best impression yet….ha ha….of course you can’t hear me-rats!) They should do a whole month of Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob….and Clerks II…..(am I missing one?) Of couse it would go over a month…but that would be cool…….

  5. I’ve always considered Top Gun a stinker. Anyhow, I’m down for The Breakfast Club, Friday the 13th, Gremlins, Purple Rain, and Pulp Fiction. It would be cool to take my oldest son to see Pulp Fiction, since I took him to theater with me when it first came out, even though he was only a few weeks old. OK I officially feel elderly now.

  6. Uh, Hellooooo? Fuckin’ Big Lebowski anyone?? THIS IS A MANDATORY GET TOGETHER!!!(respect the all-caps) is this blog goin’ crazy town on me or what ? Get yer ish’ together DD or else!! “The Dude abides” ftw

  7. What I hope to see in future Flashback Flicks:

    THE LONGEST YARD (1974)

    DIRTY HARRY

    SLAP SHOT

    D.C. CAB

    ALL THE PRESIDENT’S MEN

    THE DIRTY DOZEN

    THE CANNONBALL RUN

    NORTH DALLAS FORTY

    A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN

    WHEN HARRY MET SALLY

    ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK

    and (drumroll please) DELIVERANCE!!!

  8. Ah, man, Dr. Strangelove on the big screen, there’s something I thought I’d never see. Gotta say I miss the last run’s format of art film – cult film – art film – cult film, if just because that way we got to see stuff that’s not been circulated constantly at the midnight movie theaters like West Side Story (was that a 70mm print?).
