It’s been a while since our last Gettogether here on Dumb Drum (we were doing Tweetup’s before Twitter blew up) ever since local theaters stopped doing Flashback Features and it’s made us somewhat sad. Recently, we talked to the general manager at Edwards about thisĀ and were told that they’re working on something but that it probably wouldn’t happen any time soon. We were always fans of coming together with like-minded people to have a drink, meet new people and check out an awesome movie and that was the whole point of the Gettogether. And to be honest, we kinda missed that so we thought to ourselves “Why not just bring back the Gettogether for some other cool movies?” And I couldn’t think of a more awesome movie to do it for than “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World” so we’re bringing it back next Thursday, August 26th at Edwards Theater in Riverpark! The film begins at 7:45 p.m. (you can buy tickets here on Fandango) but before that, we’re meeting up at the bar area at Me N’ Ed’s Coney Island Grill at 6pm for a few beers so feel free to come and join us, throw back a few and maybe get a bite to eat before the film if you feel so inclined. We’d love to say Dumb Drum would be providing food & drinks but we’re broke and do this for the love so all we can really offer is our handsome faces at this point but hopefully we can provide some stimulating conversation as well and as soon as 7:30 hits, we’ll walk over to the theater and peep out the awesomeness that is Edgar Wright’s newest film. In case you haven’t heard, the film has been getting pretty good reviews from us and even the Fresno Bee’s Rick Bentley and he doesn’t like shit! If you’ve played one game of Street Fighter, are a fan of Edgar Wright films (which you should be) or just wanna see Michael Cera get beat up, there’s a good shot you will enjoy this film and laugh your ass off. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments. Also, feel free to RSVP over here if you’re on Twitter. So spread the word, tell your friends, make it a date night… whatever! Just mark the day on your calendar and we’ll see you next week!
As long as I don't have to work, I'll be there!
