Who likes to sit at home and watch movies on a HD flat screen while scratching your nether regions on your couch? Nobody! And this weekend you have plenty of options to leave your dank cave of a living room and head out as Fresno is happenin’ with movie related going-ons that’ll make your head explode (see, I worked it in somehow)!
- Tonight, catch the Fresno Filmworks screening of Tokyo Sonata at 5:30 p.m. & again at 8:15 p.m. Tickets run $10 for general, $8 for students & seniors.
- Also tonight, check out the punk rock documentary American Hardcore, playing at The Chinatown Youth Center, 901 F Street, 7pm, FREE. Scope out the trailer after the break.
- Movies In The Park continues with tonight’s screening of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It all begins at dusk at Eaton Plaza (by the Water Tower downtown) and is 100% completely FREE. So if you said you would never pay money to see this film again but kinda regret saying that, here’s your chance. Keep your eye out for the two local shots that made it in the film.
- On Saturday, KFSR hosts a screening of the feature-length docu “Garrison Keilor: The Man on the Radio in the Red Shoes,” a look behind the scenes at live radio show A Prairie Home Companion. 7pm showing SOLD OUT. 8:30pm showing, Fresno State, Alice Peters Auditorium, $10. Trailer after the break.
- Finally, we’ve talked about The Brothers Boom in the past and I’ve been real excited to watch the film. Luckily, it opens today here in town and is playing at the Sierra Vista Cinemas in Clovis so I’d highly suggest you check out the trailer after the break and see if it’s your bag and head on out and support these “art” films the chains bring in.

90.7 KFSR is also hosting a screening of the feature length documentary “Garrison Keillor: The Man on the Radio In the Red Shoes” on Saturday June 13th at Fresno State’s Alice Peters Auditorium. The 7:00 PM screening is sold out, so we have added an 8:30 PM screening. Tickets are $10. The Peters Auditorium is located in the Business Building. More info at kfsr.org

Missed that one. Thanks for the info!
DAMN. I was working on a post for movie choices this weekend, but then I left to get some ice cream.
It was worth it.
Oh yeah, I’m definitely gonna check out The Brothers Bloom, and of course Tokyo Sonata tonight.
I think CYC (Chinatown Youth Center) is showing the punk documentary “American Hardcore” tonight or tomorrow…I’d find y’all a link, but I am lazy.
Thanks for the heads up, sir!
