So Edwards Theater’s series of popular Flashback Features has ended and there was no word of it possibly coming back, until today when local blogger/TV dude Mike Scott posted this little update to the Mindhub listserv:
The manager at Edwards Riverpark wants to know what YOUR favorite classic films are! Every Thursday night, Edwards has a “Flashback Flicks” night, when they show a classic film on the big screen for only $5. You’d be amazed at the crowds that turn out for films like “Gladiator” or “Clockwork Orange” or “Grease.” Anyway… Henry (the theater manager) is currently putting together a list of the next group of films he’s going to schedule, but he wants to know – what are some of Fresno’s favorites?
I’ve submitted a few suggestions to Henry. You can see my list, and submit your own suggestions, by following the link below!

So there you go. Kinda mad that they didn’t include Desperado last time, like I was? Well here’s a chance to make your voice heard! Hmmm… maybe they can screen some of the films that people have sweded and show those before or after the screening (Bryan, we need to get on this!!). So it sucks that you gotta sign up at the CBS 47 site to comment but feel free to leave us your suggestions here. Sure, they probably won’t get counted but you never know who reads this little blog. And we might have to pay this Henry character a visit. After the break, you’ll find my list of suggestions along with trailers.

I haven’t been to enough Flashback Features so excuse those that have already played:

Honeymoon in Vegas (don’t hate Nic Cage is actually great and there’s a cameo from Jerry Tarkanian)
Zoot Suit
The Untouchables
The Game
King of Comedy
and I have to really second Mike Scott’s suggestion of the Man Who Fell to Earth…that would be dope..
Hey Brodiemash: Since you seem to be a ‘movie’ guy… you need to check this out. Have you heard of “The Room”?
http://community.cbs47.tv/blogs/mikeblog/archive/2009/07/28/4210526.aspx
Yeah, we’ve been contemplating doing a local screening for it but we just never got around to it. I’ve seen about half the film but turned it off to save it for a community screening with friends :) I wonder if Troll 2, the Best Worst Movie, is worse than The Room.
Over The Top
Leon
Face Off
Rambo 3
Rocky 4
Robocop
+1 on Three Kings and Mallrats
Boiler Room
Kung Pow
Leon: The Professional & Robocop WOULD be dope!
