I stopped reading DC comics this year after I simply coudn’t get past the lore that was required knowledge to get the maximum enjoyment from most of their heroes. Sure I’ll still pick up some issues when they have Jim Lee, Frank Quitely or one of the Kubert’s bust out some new stuff but for the most part, not a huge DC fan. Earlier in the year Grant Morrison (The Invisibles, Seven Soldiers) took over the writing reigns over at Batman with the much hyped Batman R.I.P. storyline and now, according to USA Today (via Slash Film) it seems that the outcome of said story will reveal a secret from Bruce Wayne’s past that will cause him to relent the mantle. Something like this will cause me to head back on over to the DC side of the lawn for a bit but the question is will this be good enough to get me to stay for a while. Not sure right now but will I put this thing on my saver over at Heroes? You betcha! You got names like Neil Gaiman (Sandman, Death: The High Cost Of Living), Alex Ross (Kingdom Come, Marvels) & Andy Kubert (Batman, X-Men) and that translates to sales and I’m fickle enough to fall for these kinda things even knowing full well that in about a year, everything will be back to normal. That’s how it works in the funny books over at DC….or at least that’s my perception. For the full story on what the artists are working on, check out the full story over at USA Today here.
P.S.—Yeah, clearly I’m a Marvel fanboy so fuck off!
BRB, fucking off.
No, no! Please come back! You know I was jus playin’…..
