Zero Punctuation: Wii Sports Resort review

I’m not a huge fan of the Nintendo Wii. Oh sure, I can get my thrills with a 4 hour set of Boom Blox but I have yet to see the killer app that causes me to sell my good kidney to purchase the Nintendo soul-crushing, money printer that is this console. And I think Yahtzee feels the same way I do so you can imagine how much I’m going to love his review of Wii Sports Pt. 2. Please, don’t support Nintendo’s shenanigans by purchasing this game. Your only pushing Nintendo away from making cool games of yesteryear and supporting their unholy quest to surpass Microsoft as the most evil company EVAR.

  1. Now I have to wait until I get all the way home before I can watch this video and see if I’ll be dissuaded from purchasing said game, because I was honestly considering it.

But I rarely buy or decline to buy anything based on reviews. I like to decide for myself. My own money-sucking compulsion I suppose.

    1. Hey, if it’s your thing, its your thing. But as you’ll see in the review, it seems more like a simple rehash of Wii Sports with some added gimmicky Motion Plus that only barely works better than the Wiimote by itself.

Nintendo is more interested in getting grandma to play with their system and it sucks that most “hardcore” gamers are left out after they buit their empire. Sorry, little bit of venting there…

I would definitely not take Yahtzee’s review into serious consideration since he shits on everything that isn’t Silent Hill 2 or Portal. Funny, as hell though :)

  2. Harsh but funny.

Seriously though the Wii motion plus does significantly improve the controller fidelity. How could you not like sword fighting the hoard?

As a party game it’s really good, but I’d rather play a game like Bioshock.

  3. Good post. I should say not even Friedrich Nietzsche could have explained that so masterfully. You certainly have an ability to write vividly. Outstanding article!
