WB taps Christopher Nolan to oversee Superman development, third Batman film moves ahead

A lot of activity going on over at WB with their DC properties these last couple of days but today’s report from Deadline Hollywood stating that Christopher Nolan will sprinkle his magic reboot dust over the next Superman film is pretty big. According to the report, he won’t be writing or directing the project but rather serve as a consultant and advise on how to reboot the franchise (again), as he did so successfully with his Batman films. So where does this leave a possible third Batman feature? Well worry not because it seems like the screenwriters of The Dark Knight, David Goyer and Jonathan Nolan (brother to Christopher) are actively working on the next script. DC has some big guns in it’s stable and they seem ready to go toe to toe with the heat that Marvel Studios is bringing with their upcoming slate of films including next year’s Thor & 2012’s announced Captain America & Avengers films. Either way, lets just hope that whatever Nolan comes up with for Supes that he doesn’t throw up a brick like Bryan Singer did last time with the franchise.
