Some of you might have heard of The 48 Hour Film Project or the Showdown In Chinatown events that occur in other cities where the object is to make a film with given constraints such as a theme, script, props and of course time. Well KP from KP Actors Gym has started his own little spin on the idea and today is the last day to sign up for Fresno version of this and it’s called the Lookee Loo Showdown! You need to sign up your team by today (there’s a limit to only 10 teams so if you’re interested in participating, I suggest you contact KP at 394-2179 or email at KP@Kpactorsgym.com) as all the specifics will be emailed to you tonight at midnight and you and your team will have a week to make a movie. Here are more details from the official post:
Then Weds October 7 at midnight you will get the elements that must be in your film, and the length of time allowed for the film (could be from 4-7 minutes). You have one week to write, shoot, edit and place it on a dvd by Weds October 14th midnight. More information will be given in the email sent. This is for all levels, students, amateurs, and professionals. The films will be shown FridayOctober 16th, the house (tBD- have two locations in mind) opens at 7:30. Perfect way to network with others who love film.
So that’s that. But there will also be a theme and here’s info on that:
THEME: Remember all those cult classic horror films? The cheesy effects, the scary music? Cult films are 50’s t0 80’s. From Boris Karloff, Vincent Price, that creepy doll to the beloved Jason (Jason Jason Jason). Heck , Rocky Horror scares people! Your film must reflect on this.
Yep, that’s the gist so if you’re interested, best to submit your email and start brainstorming because you have time & Team Dumb Drum against you because we’re entering this booch! Good luck!
Let's do it, I'm ready!
On another note, I wonder why it's called a "Lookee Loo"? Isn't a Lookie Loo someone who just walks around the store and never buys anything? Hidden meaning, hmm? KP? Hehe.
